Then one day while sitting in my cardiologist's waiting room, I came across an article about recent research on laughter and heart disease. Their study found that definite positive effects, especially on those of us who were older.
The article suggested asking yourself when was the last time you laughed, really laughed, like a belly laugh!

Recall the last time your were grumpy? Likely you had some level of pain, either physical or mental. As we age, pain becomes so common we just try to put up with it. But research suggests that laughter can help.

We know laughter does help. Multiple research studies have shown that mirth can have a positive effect on our bodies, our hearts, our mind, our circulation, our breathing.
Personally, I believe when we have more fun, we become a more positive force in our world. When we laugh more, and enjoy our lives more, we're able to give more to others.

They say that getting old is No Fun. The changes, the pains, the losses, all seem to conspire to suck the joy out of our lives.

We can reach a point where things just feel overwhelming - it takes too much effort to even try.

I know that feeling first hand. In my mid-seventies, I reached a point where I was just going thru the motions.

I realized it had been a really long time... Not since before I lost my wife.

That article shook up something in me. It led me to do more research.
I learned about humor and what can make us laugh and ultimately how important laughter can be to us.
That inspired me. I wanted to share a lighter way of looking at life. That was what got me started as a humor creator.
