Cheating at golf is practically a sub-sport of its own. It’s a game of honor, fortunately. That makes it very easy for those with "flexible" integrity to shave off a few strokes.
Below, Duffer demonstrates the ten classic golf "shams."
1. The "Leather Wedge" (AKA The Foot-Flick, or Tree-Toe-Tap)
Instead of playing the ball from behind a tree, the golfer uses his shoe to nudge the ball into a clear opening while his opponent isn't looking.
2. The "Hand-Mashie" (The Pocket Drop)
When a ball is lost in high grass, the golfer pretends to find it by dropping a spare ball through a hole in his trouser pocket.
3. The "Coughing Fit"
Distracting an opponent during their backswing with a perfectly timed, loud "Ahem!" or a fake sneeze.
